Robert Redford’s Emotional Confession About the Love of His Life at 88?

Along with George R. R. Martin, 76, who penned the books on which "Game of Thrones" is based, the venerable actor is an executive producer on "Dark Winds," and both men made camebacks on Sunday night's Season 3 premiere. Redford and Martin show up in the episode as prisoners engaged in chess. Thanks in part to the series main character, Navajo tribal police officer Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon), Martin's character set Redford's in checkmate. Vulture claims Redford and Martin's scene was filmed on a closed set at Redford's request.

The program centers on Navajo police officers working in the 1970s. Chris Eyre, the director of the episode, told Vulture that although the idea for Martin and Redford to cameo had been "in the air since the first season," "just to be sitting there going, Oh, I'm going to direct Robert Redford, struck fear in me."

He said, "Bob was so nice on the day and George was likewise. But I recall Zahn turning to me as we were ready to begin filming and he said, "You're doing a scene with Robert Redford, that's incredible," and I responded, "Zahn, will you be quiet? I am getting anxious from you.
